Volunteer Oppotunity – Help us clean the Lee County portion of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway

This event is open to EVERYONE—please share and invite others! We also definitely need pick up trucks to haul out the trash (can be bone stock and full size).

What We Provide

• Trash bags
• Rubber gloves
• A designated disposal area at the end of the day (in Beattyville).
• Food vouchers for the food trucks and restaurants at the Family Fun Day in Beattyville.

What You Should Bring

• Lunch and plenty of water
• A full tank of fuel before departure (don’t be that truck!)
• Any tools or gear that can help with trash pickup
• Pick Up Truck if you have one we can use to haul trash

This is a great chance to give back and help keep the DBBB a great experience for all visitors. We hope to see strong involvement as we work together to protect and preserve these trails for future generations.

CAMPING:

If you would like to come down and camp Friday and Saturday making a weekend of it, Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures is providing free camping at 570 Old KY Hwy 11
Jeffersonville, KY 40337. Please let us know if you are planning to camp with us.

Clean Up Day:

We will meet at 10am Saturday morning at the Junior Williamson Rest Area at 24 L&E Railroad Pl, Slade, KY 40376 (Slade Exit). We will break into multiple groups with trail leaders depart from there.

We will end the day at the Beattyville Main Street Cruise-In and family fun day. We will cruise in loaded with trash and dispose of everything in the Beattyville dumpsters literally at the event. After trash is deposited, we will give out food vouchers (dinner on us) to participants good for food trucks and restaurants in town square.
